There are many more resources available on the CFEE website, but this month, we’re going to add just one more: the “Classroom Edition.” In case you’ve not clicked on the “about” tab recently, here’s its story, as told by CFEE president Gary Rabbior:

CFEE originally worked with The Globe and Mail and a variety of sponsors to produce, print, and distribute a hard copy version of The Classroom Edition in the 1990s. The high cost of production and circulation, however, led to its cancellation some years later. About five years ago, CFEE and the Investor Education Fund, working with The Globe and Mail, resurrected The Classroom Edition in an online version. The response was very positive from educators and we climbed to about 5,000 registered users without a great deal of promotion.

Recently, the IEF turned its resources to other directions and Scotiabank stepped up as our new Classroom partner. In discussions with the leadership of The Globe, and our new supporting partner, we decided to totally redesign the Online Classroom Edition – providing additional content and features for teachers.

The new edition launched on March 1, 2014.

Rather than being a monthly posting, as was the case in the past, the Classroom Edition will be constantly changing with some new material posted on a daily basis.

We very much encourage teachers to provide us with feedback and suggestions and we would welcome teacher contributions to the site. We want the site to be a valuable reference and support tool for teachers related to many aspects of education.

We hope you find the site and its resources to be of value.
